I've never been to a casting call for extras before and have no idea what goes on!. Are you expected to perform a monologue!. I wouldn't suspect so !.!. but then again I have no experience so I wouldn't know!. Do they take a Polaroid picture of you!?!? What goes on in the casting call!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on which type of casting call you're going too: Assuming that this is an Open call (Because if it wasn't you should already have this information) I'll let you know what goes on there: For an Open Casting Call For Extras: No, you will MORE than likely not have too act You'll be asked to give them your resume or fill out an information/audition Form!. This form will include any experience or special skills you have or have had!. Yes They will take your picture!. This is so that they will be able to refer back to it later on after the call!. I encourage you to wear something that looks good around your neck!. Because this picture will be a headshot (which is a picture of just your head) Turtlenecks do well for most people!. They'll take your picture, Look at this form and go: Yes, No, Yes, Yes, No, No, Yes, No, NO WAY, yes, OF COURSE To EVERYONE!. You shouldn't even have to act! :) PS: This is not true if auditioning for a supporting or lead role!. Only Extras I Hope this Helps! Break a Leg! If you're in a non-speaking part then I'd say it's a safe bet they're not going to want you to perform anything!. As for the picture taking - I'd say it depends on what they actually require of the extras!. My husband didn't have one taken!. He was told to turn up on a specific day, he did, then he along with all the others were just told what to do in the background whilst the action was going on in front!.Www@QuestionHome@Com If you are being cast as an extra you will not speak, therefore you will not be asked to do a monologue!. In fact, most likely you will not have to do any acting at all!. they will be checking to see you have the right look and are the right age for the parts they are looking for!. Yes, they will probably take a picture of you!. There will be many many people there!. remember, being cast as an extra is not considered acting and will not look good on your resume, but it can be a lot of fun and a great way to meet people in the industry, and, hey, you might even the coveted speaking role!
