Question: Please help!! Should I go!!?
Okay, well my friend and I were at this Fright Fest thing yesterday and these two women walked up to us and handed is papers asking if we would like to enter a drawing to win $250 to spend at your favorite store!. So we said okay!. At the bottom of the paper it said something like "Please check this box if you are interested in being in the JRP Talent agency!."!. So of course I checked the box!. Oh and JRP is John Robert Powers if you don;t know!. I've heard of them before and I heard that they make you pay and blah blah blah!. Well anyway, they called me today on my cell phone but my phone was off so they left a message!. They said that someone named Mara Santino was coming to their agency and that Mara Santino is really close to the Nickelodeon and Disney network!. They asked for my mom to call them back if I wanted to be a part of the PRIVATE event!. Sooo I know this is probably a scam or something but should I just go anyway so see what happens!?! I know that they tell you you have potential and that if you take their classes for like a $1000 but if they said that to me I wouldn't!. So should I just go and see what happens or what!?

P!.S!. My friend also checked the box and they didn't call her!.!.!.!?!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've been contacted about JRP before too!. They come to malls and big events like that to recruit students for their acting/singing/modeling/dancing school!. It would be so cool to be a part of it, and it IS legit, but unfortunately they are extremely selective, so even if you are super talented you are not likely to get in :( But talk to your mom about it and get her opinion!. You may as well check it out, but you probably want her with you when you do, just in case!. Ya never know, there's always that one in a million chance :) Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

JRP is actually a real thing!. Not a scam, you pay them to teach you the right way to do things, like audition and stuff!. The only thing is, they take everyone, even if you suck!. Go ahead and take a look and see if you like it!. If it seems like something you want to do, try a different company because that one is not that great!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think you should tell your parents about this, so they will know what is going on!. If you want to go, make sure you take one of your parents with you!. also you can check online and see if this company does any promotions!. Please be careful, people can be crazy and do not give anyone any money!. Good LuckWww@QuestionHome@Com

You have shown enough doubts, that I say do not go!. It is amazing what we can be talked into by persuasive people, even when we think we have convinced our self otherwise!.
Anyone who has an agent, is thinking about getting an agent, or has questions about agents!.
Go to

Read it all!. If you are too young to sign a contract have your parents read it too!.
Best of luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

SURE IF IT;S OK WITH YOUR MOM!. I MEAN, DONT DO NYTHING LIKE SIGN CONTRACTS AND PAYING LIKE 50 BUCKS FOR SOMETHING THAT IS NOT EVEN WORTH IT!. SEARCH THAT GIRL MARA SANTINO!. SEE IF SHE REALLY EXISTS!.
GOOD LUCK HUN
HOPE I HELPEDWww@QuestionHome@Com

They're trying to sell you the class!. Just to attend the event!.!.!.if it costs nothing, and you're under no obligation, then it wouldn't hurt you to go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

OH YEAH I WENT TO ONE, AND THAT HAPPENED TO ME, SO I DON'T BOTHER TO GO TO ANY MORE!

USUALLY IF THEY BOTHER YOU ITS BECAUSE THEY WANT MONEY!

JUST TRY IT OUT!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Yes, go to a shady back theater acting class!.

You gonna get raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaapppeeeedddd!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Dont stay home and dont waste your timeWww@QuestionHome@Com

stay home!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you dont HAVE to go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

dont go!.!.!.!.you'll be wasting you time!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

If they didn't take your picture or anything they might have just given drawn names at random to have people come in!. They probably don't even remember what you look like!. Go ahead and waste your time if you want to but don't invest any money in it!. If it's a legit modeling company then they will pay everything up front and ask you to pay them back when you start getting jobs that pay!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, NO legitimate agency will ask you to pay any money without signing a contract, and of course, having a meeting first!. Do NOT hand them any money upfront!.

Second, DO NOT go without your mother!. If you are underage then they cannot hire you because you must sign a legal contract and you are a minor!.

If this is a real deal, still talk to your mother about it and see what she thinks!. If she is willing to go, then have her go with you!. If she doesn't like the idea, do NOT go!. Because if it is a scam, or a trap, you could get seriously hurt or injured!.

It sounds like a scam to me!. But Mother knows best, so talk to her about it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Who knows!. I'm spending almost $800 to go to a ProScout invitational in about 5 days!. Everyone keeps telling me that's a scam too, but it obviously wasn't for my friend who now models under the Elite agency!. I would say go for it as long as you don't have to pay anything to go initially, just to see what it's all about!. I think you may really regret it later on in life if you end up not going!. You'll always be wondering "what if"!.!.!.which is one of the reasons why I'm so insistent on going to the invitational I am going to!. I don't want to look back and always wonder "What if I went!? Would my life be any different!? Would I be happier!?"

The way I see it is this: Money can always be replaced, but lost opportunities cannot!. Just be careful!. Know that to the people in the talent/fashion industry you are nothing more than a dollar sign!. Don't go without a responsible parent, and don't sign anything until you read it COMPLETELY (especially any fine print)!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
