Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: Well,quitting piano is a big thing!. I started piano when I was 5 and at one stage I wanted to give up, but I then realized how good I was getting, so I didn't stop! (What a good choice!) Playing a musical instrument is a very useful tool when going to a school, be it high school or College!. But you wanted to know what to say to them!.!.!.!. If you've tried talking to them like a reasonable and mature person, simply refuse to go!. It's not as if your parents can physically force you to play the piano!. You're (probably for all I know) at the age now that you should be able to understand that no one can actually make you do anything and that your parents want what they think is best for you, meaning, you can use that and get away with a great many things!. I really hope your parents are understanding, and just think: "Will I regret this decision once I have quit!?"!.!.!. Piano, is a hobby, not a job or something!! it is something you do to relax your soul and do music!. If you dont like piano, then dont do it, if they tell you to play it, dont do it and tell them you dont like it!.!.!. Be polite and just tell them that you ARE quitting piano, because you just do not enjoy it anymore!. Don't ask for permission, just tell them that you're doing it!. If they try to argue about it, just tell them that you've already decided, and you love them, but it's done!. They may be upset at first (depends what your parents are like), but they will recover quickly!.
