Question: What's the scoop on talent agencies!? !?

im 13 years old and i'm really interested in becoming an actress!. the problem: i don't know how to get started!. im a great singer, i've been in a ton of plays, and i dance (jazz, ballet, leaps & turns technique, tap, and musical theatre)!. will a talent agency help jumpstart my career, or should i try something else!?

I only know ONE legit talent agency in Chicago, and that's Stewart Talent!.

Sorry that I don't know any other talent agencies in the Chicago area!. You might want to google and search around!.!.!.!. Read local papers to find any open castings!.

Since you have done a bunch of work, you need to put together a little package:

1) Headshot
2) Resume
3) Cover Letter

Ask your Mom or Dad to prepare this for you!.

Headshot - It has to be professional!. A snap shot may work too, if you are new!. But in order for an agent to send you out, you need to have a professional headshot done!. But that doesn't mean you have to spend $800 for pictures!. Just find a reasonable andaffordablee photographer around your area!.

Resume - it's a sheet that lists your contact information, your physical status (height, weight, color of eyes, etc), a list of projects that you done (Theater, Film, Commercial), and your special skills and Training (Jazz, Ballet, MusicalTheatricall)

Cover Letter: Since you are 13, your legal guardian (Mom or Dad) will have to write a simple cover letter, stating that you are a child talent that's currently seeking for agency representation!. Remember to mention what you are interested in doing!. Is it dancing, musical theater, Film and Television!.!.!.Commercial, etc!.

Have your parents send the package out (more like a big envelope) and wait!. If an agency is interested in your look and background, you will be contacted for an interview!.
