Question: Where can I get free plays/scripts for my drama club!?
My new school has a very new drama club!. This is it's very first year!. We need plays to preform, but we have an absolutely nonexistent budget!. We could pull for costumes and maybe some simple sets, but we just do not have the money to buy plays from websites!. I would appreciate it if someone were to find a website where they allow free printing, or something like it!? It would mean the world to us!. **additional information** about our group: We have approximately three boys, and ten girls!. A few girls could play guys, and a few i assume would prefer to direct instead of act!. We are all of high school age!. Please help! =]Www@QuestionHome@Com

You want to look for plays that are in the public domain - essentially this means that the author has been dead for seventy years, and that you don't have to pay for rights to perform the play!. Shakespeare is often a great starting point for a new drama club, as it's in the public domain and you can set it in modern dress so you don't need to worry about costumes - and the sets can be really simple!. Go to the library and see what you can find there - but I recommend doing a Shakespeare, one of the comedies probably!. Break a leg!Www@QuestionHome@Com

if i have time between my metric tons of homework for my film classes, I will see if i can write you up a couple unique scripts!. or you could write them yourselves!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Contact your state's arts council (or equivalent)!. They may have some that they have non-commercial rights to!. School plays are considered a non-commercial use!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
