Most of the great started out as theater actors!. While theater is broader and over the top film acting has to be adjusted to just the one!.

You can do all the free theater you can for the experience and the joy of it!. I did 22 years of theater because I was too cheap to pay for an acting school!. Still I managed to take a ton of classes and workshops!.

Extra work isnt a resume builder!. Most agents don't want to see extra work on you resume!. With that say Brad Pitt and Bruce Willis both were extras, mostly everyone has done it!. This is a great way to see what the greats are doing for 12 hours a day and get paid!.

It is all relavent and you should do it all because once you start to limit yourself you start to make excuses!.!.!.

I did an extra gig, special abilities and got bump up!. The residuels are great

The best way to do it is to work on both at the same time!. In film and tv, especially in Los Angeles, they do want to see some Theater work on your resume!. also, even though the extra work won't go on your resume, it will help you familiarize yourself with a set as long as you follow the rules(in short, don't bother anyone, move where you are told, and keep your mouth shut)!. I would also suggest you look for non-union film roles as well as student film roles!. These can go on your resume and will at least show you have experience!. Take any class you can, whether an acting class, filmmaking class, sports class, music class, dance class, or just a general class to learn something new(you wouldn't believe how handy a simple college course can be when it comes to improving your acting!. the more you understand and the more life experience you have, the better!.)!. There is no one ideal route, but there are things everyone in the business does!. Training, networking, and learning the business side of things should be your top priorities!. These, along with knowing yourself frighteningly well, are the keys to success as an actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

The stage is acting at its most real, its most basic form - it's how the art began!. If you want to be an actor, you should learn on the stage, at some point if not in the very beginning!. All acting plays off of stage acting, and it's easier to pull yourself back in for film than to push yourself out later for the stage!. The basic ideas of who a character is and how they function are the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

theatre acting is different from screen acting!.!.!.
having said that, our greatest screen actors of all time, historically were brilliant theatre actors!.!.!.

being an extra is not necessarily a stepping stone to being a great film star!.!.!. you may run the risk of being branded an Extra!.!.!.

Commerical gigs and voiceovers are great ways to generate income while still honing your craft and getting your face and name out there!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
