Question: Would studio lighting or natural lighting be the better option for headshots!?
These headshots will have to last me at minimum 2 years!. I have an $800 budget for the session, so price isn't an issue!. I am mainly concerned about getting a quality headshot that will last for a while!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've seen headshots done both in the studio and with natural lighting that look great! I think it's more important to find a good photographer!.

I went to Ron Rinaldi in New York and was very happy with him!. He shoots in 2 sessions - either in the morning or afternoon!. If you book a morning sessions and the weathers nice, he'll do some outside shots AND some inside shots so you get the best of both!

also, no matter who you choose, make sure they shoot in digital!! It really makes a difference in your session to be able to see how the shots are coming out!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Do not spend $800 for a headshot session!

What city are you in!? Because if you're not in LA or NYC then $100 should cover it more than well enough!.!.!.

LA or NYC, I know a lot of high end photographers are getting $400 plus, but it's ridiculous!. You should be able to get a good headshot with $250!.!.!.

as for your Q, it depends on the photographer you pick, if they specialize in natural lighting, then go that route, it's more dramatic, but some can do wonderous things in the studio with their own lighting!.!.!.

see lots of books, compare styles and pricing, and find a photographer that you resonate with!.!.!. um, that you have a good repoire, makes you feel sexy or special!.!.!. it will come up on the film!.!.!.

This guy is great and is based out of Baltimore while there are thousands of NYC photographer that do a great job!.

I am a fan of Photos that really pop!. This guy is great with natural and studio lighting and is very particular!.

He has that NYC feel about him for about half the price!. Head shots are only good for about 2 years and I have had them taking in NYC as well as down in Baltimore

If you have a decent budget, then by all means, play around with your headshots!.!.!. take a few session!. It can be tough to find that perfect shot!.!.!. though in my experience, I've found natural lighting works better, especially with less than amazing photographers!.!.!. just watch where you stand and make sure the shading is even (Which is honestly the photographers job)!. I've got a great headshot of me that I love, but the shading is messed up and there's this little streak of light across my face!.!.!. it's tragic really!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with the previous post!. You should not spend more than 250-300 on high quality headshots!. And if you're paying a photographer that kind of money they should be able to do both!. So you don't have to choose! Yay!

If you live in the LA area I might be able to give you a few suggestions on photographers!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
