Question: Do you really want to see this Broadway production of Equus!?
Personally, I don't want to see anything that has to do with some misguided soul committing atrocities against any animal, i!.e!. horses!.

And why does someone, Daniel Radcliffe, have to be naked in it!? Is it an integral part of the play ( I don't see how)!.

Opinions please!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Equus is a fantastic play, and yes the nudity is essential to the story!. Alan Strang, Radcliffe's character, is a very complicated and troubled young boy with a fascination/obsession with horses that is both religious and sexual in nature!. The event in question, his violent outburst against the horses in the stable he works at, is sparked by his shame from his repressed sexuality in the face of an awkward sexual encounter with a girl who also works at the barn with him!. The play touches on the nature of personal faith, self-worth, accountability, and other important themes!. It may not be everybody's cup of tea with its controvertial subject matter, but it is still an amazing play!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

You are absolutely entitled to your own opinion!. If you THINK you would not like the show!.!.!.then there is a good possibility that you will not!.

I do not know the entire story of Equus, but yes, from what I understand the nudity is integral to Daniel's character!.

I actually would love to see this play!. I would love to see how such a younger actor handles such deep material on stage!. Content wise I hear it is very dark, Nudity wise, I hear he is extremely brave and is nude on stage for quite a while; which i must say is extremely fearless!.

As a theatre fan, all I ask is before you judge a play!.!.!.please see it/research it yourself!. Don't go on what other people think and let that souly influence you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
