Question: Are there rules or laws for casting companies!?

I'm looking for information on casting rules as they apply to casting companies, or on rules that need to by followed when sending out a casting call, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If there were no casting companies there would be no buffer between the director and the public!. Casting is one of the worst things in any movie!. Which of the hundred of people in a production do you think would have time to sit down and try to cast!.

How badly would a movie be if the sound guy spent his nights casting!. How about the director!.

Besides!.!.!.!.!.!. the production pays the casting directors to find everyone!. The talent doesn't pay the CD!.!.!. the movie does!.

Agents on the other hand!.!.!.!. if you got a movie, you were the star!.!.!.!. and when you started negotiating how bad do you think the relationship between director would be after a heated battle at the negotiating table!.

There is a reason for everything!.

Legitimate agents are Policed by the Unions, Cds are too!.!.!.!.

There is no rule that says they must call you in!.!.!. My suggestion would be go to work for a CD and see how it all works

Beyond practices that the Better Business Bureau would recommend there really aren't any formal rules!. I've provided a link to a company that does the majority of notices for castings, perhaps it will help guide you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
