Question: Needing Help for My First ever Audition !?
Hello, I have just been called to my first ever audition and I have no clue what to wear, what to bring etc!. Can anybody shine any light on this!?
This is the email
'We would very much like to call you for audition on Wed 1st Oct at 11am!. The audition will be at --------------- and will last approx 15mins!. It will be a sight reading audition of a short scene from a film and you will be auditioned in pairs!. Please arrive half hour before your time to pick up the script and meet your partner!.'

However I agree with some of the previous post, wear neutral colors, no white, no black and no crazy colors!. First white screws with the white balance of the camera, black!.!.!. if the background is black then you look like a head floating around!. Same reason for white!.
Sight reading is a cold read but since they are giving you 30 minutes, lets say the reading is luke warm!. They do this because they don't want their idea to get stolen before they film!. It happens!.
Make sure when your paired up you stand to the right side of your partner!. This is called the power position!. People read tv from the left to the right!.!.!.!.
Where you partner is make sure you don't turn away from the camera, as you audition will be of the back of your head!. Of set yourself with your partner so that you are facing the camera and a 45 degree angle to your partner!.
I think the people audition are professionals but what makes me think less is that " It will be a sight reading audition of a short scene from a film " No one uses sight read and every professional I know, knows you'll be reading from the film!.

I think sight reading means cold reading if so work on your memory recollection so you can take quick looks at the script in hand and not worrying about looking down so much!.
Wear something that shows your figure (But not in that way)
Unless they already have them, head shots and resume' are a must!.
The biggest thing is confidence Because casting directors are watching you from the moment you walk through that door so shoulders back and swagger up!.

Take the email for exactly what it says!. No more no less!.
Dress casual but attractive!.!. A white blouse always looks good!. Do not wear high heels unless you are really comfortable in them!.
Do not look down!. I suggest looking at the forehead of anyone you speak to!. Do not apologize for any errors!. 15 minutes is about right!.
Do not do anything that you are uncomfortable with!.

I would go a plan singlet and jeans with a nice pair of shoes - comfy but still stylish!.
