You may have noticed that the play as a whole has a mixture of realism with non-realistic devices!. In real life, for example, there is no stage manager who describes everything that is going on!. The scenes where Emily dies, and then faces and adjusts to the long-view of the dead: passive, disengaged appreciation of the beauty the living ignore -- can be quite moving, and disturbing, from the viewpoint of us, who are still living!.Www@QuestionHome@Com |
