Question: Should I start out by performing in Plays!?
Im a personal trainer right now, Im 18 years old!. I hope that one day I could be an actor and maybe go as far as hollywood, also!. How should I get started!? should I start performing in plays!? I know of a theatre that holds auditions for different plays all year round!. This would be my first time actually performing in front of an audience!. Can you suggest anything to help me get started!? Www@QuestionHome@Com

Actually, getting in plays will make you go far!. Get an agent and start an acting resume!. Each play you do put it down the the resume (including all of the roles!. you can even put backstage/tech on there, too)!. I got into the movie business this way!. it doesn't take long to get noticed, especially if you already have acting experience!.

*TIP* Try going to acting workshops/classes, because casting directors and all of those people you need to audition for, take you A LOT more seriously (because it counts as training on the resume) than someone who just has a couple of plays!.

good luck

You can get into schools and pay to do the same thing you learn doing local theater!.

I do recommend a good acting workshop to learn teh basics, but after a few shows you learn how to theater act!. Board and over the top, Film acting requires a lot less action and more eye ball acting

Tv, film, commercials and theater all require different timing!.!.!.

But theater is how I started and I book movies all the time 21 years of theater and 12 of film and tvWww@QuestionHome@Com
