-ms!. kelly a love struck nurse who likes sanderson and works at the sanitarium!.
-veta simmons myrtles mother!. a well known and respected woman who likes to entertain and gets thrown in the sanitarium while trying to admit elwood!.
-myrtle mae simmons a seemingly innocent girl who falls for wilson when her crazy uncle elwood destroys her hope of ever finding a decent husband!.
-betty chumley is dr!. chumleys wife she has lots of money, but spends ample time with her husband!. she too is extremely well respected!.
