Question: Do I even have a chance at being cast in the school musical anymore!?
So tryouts were yesterday and today!.!.!.we had to do a song and monologue yesterday, and today we had to do a dance routine!.
The song and monologue went alright!.!.!.I was nervous, but wasn't very intimidated because everyone who was trying out pretty much sucked, with a few exceptions!. When it was my turn (1 1/2 hours later!) my nerves got the best of me!.!.!.I did the monologue first; I practiced it a million times and it sounded great with lots of emotion!.!.!.when I got up there, it was like I was just reading some paragraph in a science textbook!. Haha weird comparison to make, but yeah!.!.!.it wasn't too great!.
Then the song!. My voice was shaking, but not too bad!. It was still obvious I was a nervous wreck!. I couldn't hit any of the high notes for some reason, which is weird because when I practiced it, I did fine!. I guess that was the nerves again!.
I talked to them afterwards and said I couldn't hit the notes because I was nervous!.!.it's just the audition that makes me like that!. So she said she knows and that's how it always is with everyone!.!.!.I guess that made me feel better!.
Then, the dance auditions!.!.holy crap, that was just a disaster!. She started us off doing these really difficult warm-ups that no one could keep up with (except the dancers, of course), and then she went through the routine like twice and put us into groups to practice it!. We had like less than 5 minutes to practice, and then we were thrown on stage to do it!. And that was the end of that!.
I didn't even know what I was doing because I don't catch on as quickly as the people who have been dancing for years!. I CAN dance, I just need more than 5 freaking minutes to get the hang of it!.
Ugh!.!.the dancers made it seem like it was SO easy!.!.but it wasn't!.
Do you think I'll even be considered!? :/Www@QuestionHome@Com

thats difficult to say!. the last show i auditioned for, i had a great monologue, but when i got up to perform it, not one single person laughed, and it was a very comedic piece!. needless to say, i made callbacks based on my resume and the i ended up getting the lead!

there are things to be learned from every show you do and see, and also from the auditions!. so maybe this wasnt a show that you were meant to be in!. but the more shows you audition for and the more times you go through the process you will become more comfortable with the routine and probably make more shows!. so just keep auditioning, and youre bound to make at least one!. take some dance, just to give you more experience with that too!.

its hard to say if you will make it, because you never know what the director is thinking during auditions!. it also depends on the show and size of the cast!. but i highly recommend doing backstage work if you dont make it on to the stage!. i hope that helps you some! and good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
