Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
Laura Cereta was rather unusual for her time (1469-1499): a highly educated woman!. She was married at 15, widowed 18 months later, and she went on to publish a collection of letters, "Epistolae familiares!." Six months later, her father died, and she never published anything else!.

In her writings, she defended the concept of educating women, and railed against the oppression of married women!. She is considered an early feminist!.
