Question: What do casters look for in youth actors!?
Of course experience, but do they only like well-known companies!? Can it be something local!?

What type of person do they look for!? I know this is kinda of general, but I just want a general (but helpful) answer!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Depending on the place you live, they just look for some one who fits the role of the character they are casting!. It doesn't have to be a well known company, if it is a well known company, it will probably cost more and might require some extra work to fit the criteria of what kind of people they cast!. As for locality, I would definitely stick with something local due to having to drive long distances in order to meet with the casting directors or having to drive long distances to act!.

Hopefully that helps!Www@QuestionHome@Com

For what acting medium!?

Thats exactly what i meant!.

I have several friends who are involved with MTC (Melbourne Theatre Company) aswell as several film makers and producers, and they always say that there is no substitute for experience and ability, you need to be able to convey potential!. Tony Knight (head of NIDA [National Instititute of Dramatic Art, where Cate Blanchette, Mel Gibson, Judy Davis, Hugo Weaving etc]) put it best when he said 'Acting is 99% persperation, 1% inspiration'Www@QuestionHome@Com

They look for the "X-factor" the same as in adults!. This can be from unknowns as well as more established actors!. As the expression goes: everyone was a beginner once, even Shakespeare!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm a film maker, and I have to say!. With youth you get into BIG acting with dumb luck!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
