Question: Should I see the play or movie first!?

I want to see Spamalot on Broadway this winter, but I've never seen the movie Holy Grail!. Should I see the movie before the play!? Will I still understand the play if I see it without the movie!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

okay my answer might help and might not but that is up to u !. though i have never been to a play in my life i consider it the same between books and movies!. i like to watch the movie first then read the book so that i can compare the to and also visualize the happenings of what is going on from page to page!. also i like to sometimes watch the movie then read the book then again watch the movie so you can do the same but yes i think its a better understanding to watch the movie first because the movie somehow breaks it down better for us than that of a play!.!.!.

For Spamalot, you should watch the movie first because Spamalot was originally performed in movie form in 1975!. Watching it might definitely provide details that the play leaves out!. However, when watching movies that derived from plays, you should watch the play first!. Musicals such as Dreamgirls, Hairspray, Sweeney Todd and others are different onstage than they are onscreen!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
