Question: Audition Songs for a Teenaged Boy!?
I'm doing a play at school, but we wont know wat play it is until only a few weeks before!. i was wondering if there were any songs i could sing for the audition!. My voice is pretty well-rounded but im most comfortable singing alto-tenor!. i need a song that would b good for any play we might do!.i'm friends with the staff of our skool, and they told me, confidentialy, that we may do fiddler on the roof!. they said not to spread it around because it wasnt finalized!. any help!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are doing Fiddler you might want to check out Big River or Floyd Collins!. Both have great songs for guys!.
Whatever the show is don't sing a song from that show unless asked to!. Learn them, but don't audition with them!. also don't sing something from a different musical genre- i!.e!. if the show is Fiddler on the Roof don't sing something from You're a Good Man Charlie Brown!. Don't sing Sondheim!. The music is so overly complicated it will overshadow your performance! Don't sing songs that are overdone: anything from Disney, Rent, Wicked or Les Miz is a "no-no"!.

"Mr!. Cellophane" from Chicago (for a classic-style, show-tunesy musical)
or
"Dentist" from Little Shop of Horrors (for a more modern, rock-ish musical)
(Sweeney Todd also has GORGEOUS music for a guy, but it's uber popular right now so you'd probably have repeats in the audition!. also, it's really hard and sounds bad if not done well!. But if you're really good, go for it!)
I'm sadly unfamiliar with Fiddler on the Roof music, so these are just a few of my favorite guy songs to hear!.

This is more of a female song, but Vanessa William's "Save the Best for Last" or Bette Middler's "Wind Beneath My Wings" will surely impress!. However, I reccommend you try "Luck Be A Lady" or any song from a musical!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
