Question: Chances of getting into Tisch/Steinhardt!? !?
I really want to go into acting/musical theater know that my resume is the not the best it can be, so my chances of getting into Tisch or Steinhardt might be slim!. I just want to know if there is any point applying to either or if I should look somewhere!. I do have other places in mind, but Tisch/Steinhardt are my top choices!. Here's what I've done so far:

MUSICAL THEATRE:
"Fiddler on the Roof" - Ensemble
"Anything Goes" - Ensemble

CHORAL ACTIVITIES:
School Chamber choir - 2 years
NJMEA All-State Mixed Choir - 1 year
CJMEA Regional Mixed Choir - 2 years

PIANO:
Royal School of Music student - 12 years (getting my diploma soon)
Carnegie Hall performer - 5 years
Kimmel Center performer - 1 year
Bosendorfer Saal in Vienna, Austria performer - 1 year

i am also a part of the Forensics speech and debate team at our school!. of course, i have other extracurriculars but these are solely based on performing arts!. my academics look pretty good to me i think: i have a 3!.8 gpa, and have taken a total of 4 AP courses!. everything else is honors this year (senior year)!.

So chance me please =) I want to know if there is even a small chance!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't bother with what you have done, but what you are going to do at the auditions!. It won't make a difference if you have a measly resume, because if you blow everybody away at your auditions, they'll love you!.

With that being said, your resume is quite impressive, your grades are good, and you seem to have excellent extracurriculars apart from theater!. I think if you do well at your auditions, you would have a good chance of getting in!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you want to go for a BFA, you should only be looking at Tisch, not Steinhardt!.

BFA's require an audition!. Obviously you do have to have the grades as well, becuase NYU is very competitive but Tisch is even more competitive and a lot will be dependant upon your audition!. Just go for it!. Don't bother yourself with whether you can be one of the minute percent who gets in!. How is that going to help you!? Just prepare, prepare, prepare!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com
