Question: ATTENTION WICKED FANS!!!!!?
I finished watching this documentary about Wicked and I have heard several songs that never made the final cut before opening night!. Now my two questions i ask you are 1) What are the names of the songs/scenes that were scratched from the final edit and 2) Do you think they shouldreleases them on itunes or something!? I know this may destroy what we Wicked fans love about the show, but I am just couriuos about what the should could have been if it was left alone!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I see that one of the songs that was cut is called Which Way Is The Party, but I can't see which other songs were cut as well!. But if you want to have a hit musical on your hands, you have to make enough changes, and even have people go to pay and see it!. I don't know if there was scenes that didn't make it into the play, or if any characters didn't either!. And I never had the good foturne to see Wicked in its pre broadway days, or all the Wicked orginal cast together!. And plus Which Way Is The Party was replaced by Dancing Through Life, and both were used to introuce the character Fiyero!. And plus they used most of the orginal cast that perfromed in the pre-broadway tryout!. Robert Morse who played the Wizard at the Curran Theatre in San Francisco, was replaced by Joel Gray by the time it moved to New York!. I don't know if they should release them, and since they were cut, I don't that they even have any recording of the songs left!. They didn't record the soundtrack until after its openning on Broadway until after whatever changes that was made, even when the show was in previews!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Originally the songs "The Wizard and I" and "Dancing Through Life" did not exist!. They were instead, "Making Good" and "Which Way is the Party!?"

But Stephen Schwartz wasn't happy with the way they flowed or sounded!. So he kept working until he came up with what you see today!. Trust me, the stuff now is better!.

If there is any chance of hearing or seeing the originally planned songs, these are your sources:

The person who runs the site is also here on Y/A!. But she went on vacation and won't be back for a few weeks!. If you are interested then, talk to her and she'll probably be able to help!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It would be kinda fun to hear those tunes somehow, for sure!.
But it often happens with musicals that songs get written that don't get used in one show and then they will show up in another later on down the road!. So you may still hear them at some point in the future!.
The songs will not go to waste!.
