Position:Home>Theater & Acting> Am i good enough for cesd talent agency....??Question: Am i good enough for cesd talent agency!.!.!.!.!?!? well im 15 about to be 16 i live in az i was accepted into a!.c!.t its an acting school but i didnt end up going i take vocal lessons from melissa black she taught jordin sparks im on the varsity cheer && dance line at my hs i love 2 perform && ive done plays!. my parents are willing to move 2 l!.a if i get in i dont have an agent but i want them as my agency!.!. what else do i need!.!.!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
Best Answer - Chosen by Asker: first you need to realize that you DONT know if you want them to be your agent!. Agents work FOR YOU!. not the other way around!. You cant assume b/c of an agency's size or who they represent, that they would be a good fit for you as well!. You could get signed at William Morris, but if your agent there DOESNT believe in you 200% and fight for you (especially when you have no real credits behind you) then you will be just another name in a file!. Go and meet with as many agents as you can (with your parents) and see where and who you feel the best connection with!. Trust me, it matters!. I've signed with ppl just because, and ended up realizing that we dont envision my career the same way nor the approach to the business!. B/c you are so young, you will be able to get signed faster than someone who is 25 with no acting credits!. But you also will be competing against kids and teens who are sharp, experienced and talented!. Figure out what you REALLY want to do!. Do you want to act!? sing!? dance!? or all of the above!? do you want a career like Miley Cyrus!? or Britney Spears!? these are important questions that you need to know the answer to!. They will determine how you market yourself, and what talents you highlight when interviewing with agents!. Try and get copies of you actings, singing and or dancing!. So agents can SEE!. the entertainment industry is purely VISUAL!. what they SEE matters more than what they HEAR, a lot of times!. example!. They can SEE that you have star quality and potential, but they may HEAR, that you are inexperienced with your acting and dancing, or whatever!. Even if you do a MONOLOGUE on camera, that your parents record for you!. pick one that is age appropriate and something that you can easily relate to!. (if you are a cheerleader, then do a monologue about a ditzy cheerleader or something!.) dont do something that is for a 20 year old when you are 15!. youth is your gift!. stay young and play young for as long as possible!. best of luck!. Cheer & dance may be fun, but credits as an actor in a play or musical are much better for your resume!.
