Question: Is it OK to be quiet!?
When you go to an acting school, which I am going to, there is always the chance that most of the students in the classes are quite chatty, comical, and out-going (which in my opinion some are attention seekers, but some aren't they are just like that)!.
I don't want to be anyone I'm not!. I'm shy, but I'm confident enough to stand up and perform when I have to!. When I'm not working (acting) I'm quiet, and I don't talk unless there is something to talk about!. Is it OK to be quiet in an acting school!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

in high school i was just like you!. i loved to act, but of course there were the more out going people!. the way i feel about this is that, most of the time they were attention seekers however this was their was of becoming more comfortable with the people they would eventually act with!. you dont want to go into a scene and have no idea the kind of person that you are working with!. you sometimes do much better if you know the person on a more familiar basis!.
eventually you will make friends and then you will be the more outgoing type!.!. dont worry!.

it is ok, but I think that making an effort to interact with your peers will help you to become less quiet!. It is good to talk and become friends with the people in your classes!. If you don't talk at all, people with think you're overly shy, and probably razz you about it!. You will go farther with your acting if you're able to come out of your shell!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Yeah! I'm a pretty shy person, though I DO come out of my shell with my friends! As long as you have volume and personality onstage, you should be fine!. Just make sure that when you go into an audition, you don't have a super quiet personality (Don't be obnoxious, but don't slump your shoulders and speak in a whisper) Good luck in your acting future!Www@QuestionHome@Com
There's nothing wrong with being normal and not acting the idiot like a lot of them do, just make sure you're outspoken in discussions in class or the tutor will overlook you and really you want them to notice you for the right reasons!.
