As legend has it, Jerry Mathers of Leave it to Beaver had trouble doing it!. Hugh Beaumont, who played his father, told him to just bury his face in his hands and laugh, and no one could tell the difference!. If it worked for the Beeve back up against those sophisticated TV watchers of 1959, it's got to work now for these hacks who call themselves audiences!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

I cried for a play, and it was pretty easy!. It depends on how deep or emotional the moment is, and how it affects you!. It was during a scene where one of us 'died', and when the music rose up I lost it!.
Try to get in the 'crying mode'!. I don't know how important this moment in the play is for you, but just try to push out soft sobbing sounds, and they should grow on their own if you feel your character's emotion!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

You have to really be in the character and feel the emotion to get the crying out, read the script and think back to a dark place a or a sad time in your life!.!.

AND IF THAT DOESNT WORK, DO IT THE FAKE WAY

Have your voice tremble and try to buy some tear doc that makes you cry

I had to do this; I was once Chava in Fiddler on the Roof

Like the others said, just try to think of something sad or really put yourslef in the characters shoes!. If none of this works, you can (like I did) wipe your eyes really hard and they will get red and puffy!.

Don't forget, if its a big theater, the back row can probably barely see you, so a sad, shakey voice will give it away!. Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go all the way!. The audience can tell if you're realistic!.

You have to commit!. If you commit to trying to convey the fact that you're crying, you'll be more realistic than if you were like

"Lalala I'm only halfway trying because I don't want to look like a fool if my all the way trying is really bad"

SO REALLY COMMIT YOURSELF :DWww@QuestionHome@Com

I had this same problem a little while back!. And one day, I was reading through a new monologue(dramatic) and I hit it!. You have to really become the character and commit to the character and the role you're playing!. What if it was happening to you!? No, I take that back!. It IS happening to you!. It's hard to just snap your fingers and have tears!. I always have to build up to it!.
If you have to (This has never worked for me), think of something really sad, relive a time in your life that made you cry!.

Good luck!
