As a matter of fact, the US Tour concluded their tour last June 29, 2008 in Jacksonville, FL!. The tour started earlier this year in Ohio, and made stops in major cities!.

There is a Canadian Tour!. The UK Tour has ended!. There are productions in Korea, Warsaw and Budapest this year!.

I'm sure there will be a revival!. It's a big thing in Broadway - revivals!.
also, it's a popular musical so it will have to come back sooner or later!.

Check with your regional theatres, they may have a production!.

You can also keep track of new touring companies thru Andrew Lloyd Webber's website and The Really Useful Group website!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I agree with answer # 1 other than with regard to revivals!. Probably in the top 2 or 3 of any A!.L!.W!. productions, CATS on some level will live on, but at the moment there is a proliferation of shows such as HSM, and Wicked still contracts with many major City venues, which is part of the problem!. For CATS to ever be a valid $$$ maker, the venue chosen will have to be equally valid!.

The tour which used far fewer Semi Tractor Trailers than Phantom to haul around, was still a major effort given the size of the cast, and the costuming, etc!.

Set issues were relatively easy, but again, the venue has to have the capacity on stage, as well as decent enginerring/mechanical issues in place for lighting, flying, etc!. The acoustics of the venue have to be considered as well!.

A local performing arts center in central FL, spent over 100 K, in modifying the theater, and stage, just to accomodate shows such as Cats and Phantom!.

Certainly it's available on DVD, with the latest produced, using the UK cast!.

I'd pay to see it again, but I suspect that may not happen for a considerable amount of time!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
