Question: Is NYC or LA for me as an actor!?
I'm going to be a freshman and was looking into the future!. I am a tv/film actor and not a theater actor!. I use to do alot of theater, but got sick of it!. I am also a print journalist!. I would like to work for things like Variety, The Rolling Stone Magazine, Upfront Magazine, or The New York Times!. If I go to NYC I would attend NYU and if I go to LA I would go to USC and double major in acting and journalism!. I know NYC is more for Broadway, but has alot of things for me!. What do you think!? I live in Metro ATL now, and have an agent in Nashville, and my agent in ATL just went out of business!.!.!. I can't go to NYC or LA now so would wait until I am 18!. Is NYC or LA better for me, and is NYU or USC better for me!? Any feedback is fine!. Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you want a "fallback" option then NYC is probably a good pick!. You can try out acting and if it doesn't work or you get tired of it you can fallback on journalism!. You probably wont be successful as an actor because you want to do tv/film and NYC is mainly broadway!.
In LA, you can audition for a lot of tv/film work!. You could start in commercial and work your way up!. If you get tired of acting you could then move to NYC after you have your journalism degree and be successful there!.
I would choose LA because it will give you more within your acting realm and you can still get a degree in journalism!. If acting doesn't pan out NYC magazines would search for West Coast opinion to encompass their readers!.

I think you are too interested in journalism to be an actor!. Most BFA acting programs do not allow a double major as they are too intensive!. Must be other agents in Atlanta, which is a good place to become established as an actor!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
