Question: How can I start my acting career!?
I'm a 19 year old high school dropout and I've found that my career options are extremely limited!. I want to get into acting, I did a lot of plays in high school and I always had starring roles!. I received a lot of compliments on my acting skills especially on my quick quick line memorizing!. In high school I smoked a lot of pot so I was high most of the time and only had a couple days prior to the big show when I wasn't too stoned to memorize my lines!. I always did great though and I was even offered a drama scholarship to UCLA before I dropped out at the beginning of my senior year!. I want to do something cool with my life without having to go back to school and I think acting is that choice!. I live in L!.A!. right now and am doing some modeling but I don't like it and I really want to get into acting!. How can I give my acting career a boost!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

be smart and go to school, read some books and forget about the acting career, besides, if you dont you will lose your shoes !.!.!. and die!. Besides, im surprised u look good enough to act or model, im sure your face has deformed from all the drugs you smoked!. You can still repurchase some shoes, thats call good-will shoe hunting, find a pair you like and don't lose them! The teachers may be downers but unless you have some that are "pushers," you need to wipe up all your boo-hoo tears and head back to school, DONT SKIP HEALTH, you don't need to !.!.!. bake some eggos in your oven to realize that you need to get serious about your life, BUCK up, take a hatchet to the gnats in your life!! I'm not 12, I'm 42 and my daughter sounds just like you, i just don't want you to turn into her!.!.!.Its just so sad for a mother to see!.!.!. don't disappoint your mother too, it will break her heart! I'm not retarded but your children probably will be! You must have inhaled one time too many, trojans only work like 70% of the time or less, besides, under the influence you might be surprised what mistakes your ricky might make!. Adoption tardy - thats where you can pick out a nice unretarded kid, its a very radical conception I know but even you can understand it and you haven't heard of surgery either, amazing! Besides that, you really can't avoid retarded spawn, nice job of ruining your life - very thorough!. No no, the surgery is to stop the !.!.!. fish production, duh! Okay, I'll use small words, no fish = no kids!. And again, ADOPTION!! Not all adoption is so much, theres a ton of orphanages that have kids for super cheap because their parents just couldn't care for them!. It would be less work to adopt a child especially if they were already 10ish because you only have to care for him/her for 8 years!. Even if you don't want to adopt, if you can marry someone with a kid already, both ways to get around having a retarded kid, good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

You should at least finish high school!. You may be able to find some acting gigs !.!.!. but you shouldn't put all your hopes into one pursuit such as acting!.

It will be easier for you to get high school done while your 19 / 20 versus later in life!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

you can try looking for auditions at this site: hollywood-opportunities(dotcom)Www@QuestionHome@Com

first of all, get headshots and make your own resume with ALL the experience you have had!. then make a profile on http://LAcasting!.com
(that way agents/casting directors can see you and your face will be somewhat known)
then take some acting classes and NEVER stop!. agents will ask you if you are currently training with someone and if you say no, its a BUG turn off!.
after you've taken acting lessons and have some decent knowledge, find yourself an agent! the best way is to get mailing addresses to all the agents in LA!. then send out your resume and headshot to them and wait!. it might take several days but its worth it!. you could get a few calls and yeah!.
GOOD LUCK :)Www@QuestionHome@Com

First of all, you seem to be intelligent enough to know to leave the pot alone!. It won't help you!. It will interfere with your productivity!.

With regard to giving your acting career a boost, you would be surprised (or maybe not) at how many young people say almost the exact same things in the same way!. Sometimes I'm torn between telling them to start by getting some training and telling them to just go get a head shot and go to some casting website and start submitting!. But reason wins over me and I have to tell you that if you really want to be an actor, you should first put your big rush to do it to the side and slow down!. Build your base first!. The competition is fierce and if you don’t prepare yourself really well, you will become just another statistic of the many who WANTED TO, but never made it!.
I even created a new video on my site on the exact same topic: The reasons why most aspiring actors never make it!.
You might have heard in school when you talked about Abraham Lincoln, that he is the author of a famous quote!. He said, "If I had three hours to chop down a tree, I would use the first hour to sharpen the axe!."

If you don't sharpen your axe first, there will inevitably be a time when you will have to stop chopping and sharpen it, so you might as well do it now!.

What does that mean!? Get some acting training!. Find a good school and a good teacher to help you learn how to act!.
While you are doing that, try and understand what it really means to be an actor, what actors do!.!.!.really while they are trying to get work, how little money most actors make, why actors struggle to make ends meet and how successful actors are able to continuously get work!. You need to learn business skills, networking skills, communication skills and a lot more!.
When you decide to become an actor, you are making a decision to run your own business!. Now I know you are young, but if you can start to grasp these concepts now, you will position yourself ahead of your competition!.

On the other hand if all you ever aspire to is to work background work on or something like that, then don't worry too much about all that stuff I just said and just go and try and get extra work!. That's fairly easy to get considering that the majority of all acting work is background work and smaller roles!. But you have to know that if you really want to make a big splash as an actor, sooner or later you will need some real experience and some real good training!. Extra work is great in my opinion at the very beginning just to start and see how things are on set and how real actors prepare and perform and to see how set directions are given, but it will not make your career!. In fact, some industry professionals discourage it for those who really want to pursue a serious acting career!.

The thing is, you can do both if you want!. You can go to school, take acting classes and still work as an extra while you are learning the craft!.
At any rate, have a look at this page on my website for aspiring actors!. It has 23 links to pages that have to do with starting your acting career!.
You'll find a lot of helpful information there that will make you think about how you can get your acting career started including steps to get started, 17 things you can do fairly soon to start getting work, ways to promote yourself, how to get the money together to fund your career, how to get an agent, 29 ways to promote yourself to get noticed and why acting school is so important!. http://www!.actingcareerstartup!.com/teen_!.!.!.

Good luck!

You should try getting your GED and apply for UCLA!. Who knows!.!.!. they may still be interested if you give them alot of details about your acting past and leave out a few about the pot!.!.!. lol!.
But if that doesnt work or your not interested try finding an agent office that works on commission or is not very expensive!.!.!.!. or you could just check local ads and call and book as many auditions as possible!. You are bound to catch something great!.!.!.
send me an autographed t-shirt when you make it big! lol
Good Luck
also try not to be too disapointed if things dont pick up in a hurry!.!.!. there are tough odds for making it big in acting!. its a tough buisness and although i hope you keep this goal in mind and keep working for it!.!. try to think of other interests and goals and find a more secure career or industry to get into while continuing your search for stardom!Www@QuestionHome@Com
