In a professional sense, one should consider a cover letter as standard!. NO matter WHO it's offered to!.

Short and sweet apply to a resume as well, but some relaxing of the Strict rules can be managed in a cover letter!.

You're introducing yourself, suggesting points of interest, goals, etc!. and can elaborate a bit!. Obviously "OMG I WANNA" isn't advisable, but to express a plan, or desire, and any inference of what YOU might offer the company who hires you, is acceptable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wouldn't know specifically for Disney Channel!. However when I direct for stage, I always appreciate a cover letter (even if both letter and CV are sent by email) because otherwise I get the sense that the actor just wants any job rather than this specific one and is sending the same information out to all directors!. Is best to be specific in the cover letter; why do you want the part and what could you bring to it!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Casting Directors dont read letters, because it can giev them a reason to pick you beyond your talent like if they were feeling sorry for you or something so all they look at is the resume and the headshot

Now it is okay to put in the resume why they should pick you; like your determined has confidence etc!.!.!.but dont write a letter just headshot and resume
