Question: I'm sixteen and enjoy stand up comedy!. I'm Good at the material i use but i sometimes run out of ideas!. Ideas!?

im a fifteen year old guy!. i play baseball, i have plenty of friends, and girls seem to think im decent looking!. but i have found a new love for stand up comedy!. but sometimes a tend to run out of material!. but the stuff i do have seems to be working great!. i performed at my schools talent show in may and people loved me!! but latley ive run out of material!. any suggestions of topics!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

1 offers some very valid clues!. There is never a lack of "news" though "adult stand ups" usually would go for satirical work, and there are pages of satire in tabloids!.

At 16 you can hardly talk about the cost of commuting perhaps, but you might find things about the economy that do effect you and others your age!.

Politics is another target of stand up; again, usually satirical!.

Obviously many late nighters use offensive material, and seem to get laughs, but it's expected of them by targeted audiences!. To have an audience interact might be OK, other than if/when you hurl insults, about hair, clothing, etc!. That could mean trouble after the fact!. You MIGHT be able to make fun of teachers, but again, with caution!. You probably could very easily get away with making fun of yourself!.

Subjects that are timely, topical and most relative to the age group of the audience, even in a general sense!.

Be spontaneous as well, even if you appear scattered, use yourself and your material to play off of, seque from one punch line into another joke/comedic statement!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
