What does a "portfolio" mean?

Question: What does a "portfolio" mean!?

I have been looking into applying for technical theatre/stage management courses!. Many ask you to bring a portfolio to interview!. What would this contain, and what form would it take!? Particularly for courses for mainly/only stage management!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

It would be a collection of your designs, working drawings, floor plans, light plots, etc!. Usually contained in a carrying case called a portfolio!. Available at art stores!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
