Preparation is the key to a good audition!.
1)If you can get the script ahead of time read and reread it! Know the story and which character you are interested in!.
2) Prepare a wonderful audition song that shows off your vocal range or if one is assigned to you (as in the case of some school auditions) make sure you do it as well as you can!. Remember, the director is not just listening to your song but seeing how well you present yourself!.
3) Pack your tap shoes just in case- although, unless specified, it is highly unlikely you will need them!. I think jazz shoes or character shoes will be just fine!.
4) Get lots of rest the night before and be ready to shine!.

I tried out for My first musical last week and I made it!!! =]

OK, let me make this first rule clear- WEAR LIGHT COMFORTABLE CLOTHES!!!!! U will have to dance and stuff and I wore skinny jean and a quarter sleeve and I was soooo hot and sweaty (mainly cuz I wuz nervous) but still!!!
Yea, I would bring the tap shoes (just in case)

get a BROADWAY SONG!!! I sang a pop song and everyone else sang a Broadway song!!! I was soooooo embarrassed!!!!

The place I go to is Where Dakota Fanning got discovered by my play director and TRUST ME!.!.!.!.!.!. I thought they were gunna be sooooo strict and stuff but they were soooo nice so just go out there and give it your best!.!.!.!.!.don't be nervous!!!

With any audition for just about anything you need to know what the part entails!. If its a musical work on your pitch and especially your breathing!. If you'll be dancing then your tap should be shown to let them know you have experience!. MEMORIZE the lines and stay in part!. It sounds so simple but its very easy for forget them and panic!. Just try your best to concentrate on your role and really believe that you are Alice!. Image the entire world from the book or cartoons!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i do im the lead in my play so i have plenty of tips!.!.!.drink tea and water alot!.warm up ur voice with scales!.dont be nervous and to do that dont look at the audiounce look at the wall in the back!.do ur best and be u!.and show what u got!.practice the song 4 times before the audition!.and those should help u out do breathing excersizes,and definetly bring tap shoes cause even if u didnt need them it cant hurt to be perpared!.those r my tips!.!.!.bye!Www@QuestionHome@Com
