Question: Should i do this audition!?
Okay, this would be my first serious audition of my life, i am only young, and only auditioned for school plays in the chorus!.
Now it says i must be able to sing as well as act, and i can honestly say that i have had no singing experience in my life!. Im not a bad singer, but do you think that there would a point going because id be up against trained singers and have had more experience than i do!? I know that everyone has to start somewhere, it would be good to see whats its like! I haven't got any expectations and i'm not scared of being critisised, but would it be foolish to go to an audition with hardly any experience of what they are looking for!? answers as soon as possible please :D

It's honestly a fifty fifty chance!. You can either audition and either get a yes or a no, but then there is something called a network that many casting directors, producers, and directors have!. The people or person you are auditioning for could have connections with other people and if you do a a bad audition that can put you on a special list that says ''Don't Cast These People''!. I am not trying to make you feel bad, but that is the truth!. I am also an actor and I choose my auditions carefully!. Now, the decision is all up to you!. The benefits are you can gain auditioning experience, you might actually get cast or a talent scout might happen to be there and ask you the big question people strive to be asked!. But to get to my point, I would try the audition, just try your very best so even if you don't get the part, you did good and not bad and you won't end up on the list!. I hope this helps and honestly good luck with your acting career and follow your dream, because I too am an actor and have problems like you!. If you can possibly afford it I'd go for one singing lesson with a teacher who isn't connected to your (ex!?) school!. Discuss with the new teacher what you should do as an audition song!.
The best singing teachers / vocal coaches I have met have also been the scariest on first approach!.
Audition experience is always good even if it seems bad at the time!.

As well as preparing two contrasting pieces to do for the acting audition part you should also prepare two songs which show the range of your singing voice!.
Most singing auditions would require you to supply the piano musical notes of your chosen songs for the accompanist!.
also take along a bag of exercise clothes incase they want to do a movement audition as well!. This is standard musical theatre practise!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
why not go for it, you have nothing to lose it will show you what a proper audition is like for later in life and the more experience the better, you never know you could be the exact person they're looking for, if you don't get it it's no big deal and if you don't try you might always be wondering what if!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
