Well that depends!.!.!.what part are you auditioning for!?

IF you want to go for Belle, she is a soprano by far!. She has some hints of mezzo and alto though out the show but she is a soprano!. She also has a belt in the show too, somewhat in the musical numbers "Home" but definitely in "A Change in Me"!.

Mrs!. Potts!.!.!.I would consider her a mezzo!. She defiantly has a low register but can most certainly get into the soprano range too!. That could be a good part for you considering from what you said, its in your range!.

The Wardrobe!.!.!.very VERY operatic! She is a soprano by far!. But still, can reach the mezzo areas!.
Babette!.!.!.requires you to hit a high "C" above the staff!. If you are able to reach that high, WITHOUT STRAINING!! AND USING SUPPORT!!, that could be a good part for you
The Silly Girls!.!.!.they are all around the staff!. A good mix of alto and soprano!.

From previous training and expirences, I would not sing from the actual show!. I'm in Beauty and the Beast right now actually, playing Lumiere!. I have auditioned for many shows, singing songs from the show and ending up getting ensemble and/or not getting in at all!. I began to sing different styles from different shows and whatnot, and ended up getting bigger roles and/or getting in the show at all!. But that's what happened to me!. Who knows what else can happen to you!.

But!

I think some good song choices for all the parts would be:

"As long as He Needs Me" from Oliver!
"Stop, Time" from Big
"The Wizard and I" from Wicked (As much as I hate the show, go for it)
"Good Morning Baltimore" from Hairspray (ehh)

Thjose are just a few!. Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Don't sing a song from the show unless the director specifically asks you to do so!. also, Disney songs (such as those from Alladin) can be very flat and limiting in terms of acting, so I would suggest looking at things other than Disney!. You don't want to sing a popular Broadway song, such as those from Wicked, Rent, or Hairspray because those are the last shows the directors want to hear!. I suggest doing some listening on iTunes, just to the 30 second clips to see if you like the song!. Here are some of my favorite audition songs for your range to get you started, assuming you are a mezzo soprano-ish

Another Suitcase in Another Hall from Evita
How Lovely to be a Woman from Bye Bye Birdie
Let's Play a Love Scene from Fame
Still Hurting from the Last Five Years
Jimmy from Thoroughly Modern Millie
Back to Before from Ragtime (a bit on the higher-belty side)

Look into some of these and the shows they are in and see if you can find something!. You can pick whichever part of the song you would like to do your 16-32 bar!. The sheet music for most of these songs is probably available on musicnotes!.com!.

Remember that an audition for a musical is not only about how well you sing, but how well you portray the emotions indicated in the song!. I wish you luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Someone Like You- Jeckle and Hyde
Maybe- Annie
I Dreamed a Dream- Les Mis
Almost any song from the Sound of Music

Here are some of the main roles!. If you are younger, you should audition for Belle, and if you are on the older side, you should try out for Mrs!. Potts!. There are not that many female roles in this show, so you don't have that much of a selection!. Good luck with your audition!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go for Belle if you want to be the leading leady!. Mrs!. Potts is a very big supporting role (she sings the song 'Beauty and the Beast' in the show)!. And a more ensemble-ish part is Babette (the feather duster)!. And why don't you sing like "Part of Your World" or "That's How You Know" there in the same style as the songs in the show!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Definitely 'Tale as Old as Time'
I tried out for beauty and the beast when i was younger, and the girls who got the lead parts sang Tale as old as Time!. because it not only shows off range, it shows how forte and pianissimo you can go!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I'm not sure, Um!.!.!.!.!. Maybe another Disney song!? That Aladdin song may do, A whole new world!. Or whatever!. Yeah I think that would show ur voiceWww@QuestionHome@Com

Try the songs of the movie " The Sound of Music", sung by Julie Andrews!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Somewhere over the rainbow!!!!!!!!

Best of luck!!Www@QuestionHome@Com
