Question: Broadway Play Recommendations!?
I have to go on a business trip to New Jersey next week!. My fiance is going to go with me, he has two boys (3 and 5) who live with us and we are going to leave them with their grandmother!. So this is going to be the first time we have been a lone for an extended amount of time in a while!. I only have to be in New Jersey for two days and we were thinking of going over NYC for a few days after I am done in New Jersey!. We both love broadway plays and Musicals but have never had the chance to actually see a play on Broadway and we would love to do it!. I know some of the plays like Wicked, Legally Blonde, Rent etc!. We're not really interested in Legally Blonde, I haven't seen Wicked, I've seen Rent like 100 times and I will be seeing it in January on tour with Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal!.!.!.YAY!!! So I don't want to see it really!. So can anyone recommend a good play for us!? Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

well i have seen Wicked-it is easily my favourite show ever!. then i saw phantom, which was very nice; the phantom i saw was howard mcgillan and he is easily the best phantom to ever hit broadway!.!.!.idk if he is still there!.
however, i recommend that u might not want to see either of those unless u are familiar with them or have a desire!.
See SPAMALOT! it was the most hilarious show and definately worth seeing!. no seats are bad, and the current lady of the lake has a show-stopping voice!.

in addition, i saw the drowsy chaperone, which was verry funny in a british late-night kind of way!. i hear Mamma Mia is good but i have no desire to see that!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Wicked would be great!.

It's an amazing show and Idina Menzel originated both the roles of Maureen and Elphaba and now Eden Espinosa, who was Idina's standby for the OBC of Wicked, is the closing cast Maureen for RENT!.

Kerry Ellis [current B'way Elphaba] is wonderful! Kendra Kassebaum [G(a)linda] is really good too!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

SEE WICKED it is fantastic i saw it last year it is a fantastic story and beautiful singing is included!.!.
it gave me chillsWww@QuestionHome@Com

I recommend The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee!. It's hilarious (and easily my favorite!.!.!. I prefer it to Wicked, hands down) and closing soon, so go while you have the chance!Www@QuestionHome@Com

These days it doesn't much matter whether you see Rent in Seattle or on Broadway as so much of it is cookie cutter dribble to me!. I would go off Broadway or Off Off Broadway and see something murky and only to be found in New York!.

Seems John Toppling and Harvey Perr are throwing out as much as they can toss at us (like Lloyd Webber in the 1980's)!.

I would hit the upper west side velvet underground watering holes to find out what's really going on as awesome originality changes daily!

If its all about a big show and a night out I would opt for Wicked myself or see if Harry Groener is starring in anything interesting!. I would start with a meal and build around that!Www@QuestionHome@Com

I like Wicked, Rent, and Phantom of the Opera as much as the next person but love and suggest other musicals!.
