Question: For anyone who knows anything about SWEENEY TODD the play or the movie version!.!.!.!.!?

Why is MRS!. LOVETT'S name MRS!.!? She has plans to marry Sweeney or is at least fond of him and their is no talking about her husband in the show so can anyone help me out here!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

In neither the play nor the film, but in the original serial stories of which both are based, it is alluded that Mr!. Todd actually assisted in the doing in of the original Mr!. Lovett, which is why she is such a willing assistant in the new wave of murders!.

There is a fantastic version which is a little closer to the original story (except for the Campbell Scott Detective Character) with Ben Kingsley and Joanna (the absolutely fabulous Patsy-Darling!) Lumley!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

she was married at one time they dont really show it in the play but in the movie they make a reference to it remember sweeney has been gone for 15 years so she probably moved on to get a husband while he was gone and i think her husband diedWww@QuestionHome@Com
