This question of "lateness" seems to come up a lot!. 15 year olds asking if it's too late, 45 year olds asking if it's too late!.!.!.!.people, it doesn't matter!. If you truly love acting, this idea of it being "too late" should not even be an issue!.

So, the answer is no, it is never too late!. Though you do have to be realistic about the liklihood of making it big!. If your goal is to be the next George Clooney, your are surely going to be disappointed!. To be honest, yes to some degree you have time working against you becuase it can take anywhere from 5-10 years to get a real career going!. Furthermore, as actors get older, they tend to find parts becoming fewer and fewer!. However, as a male (I just assumed your a male, sorry if I'm wrong), you will find yourself in a much better position than the females!. Men can still play "Leading Man" roles in their 40's and some into their 50's!. Not so much so for women!. If you're more of a character actor, then you have an even longer shelf life!.

also, you'll find less competition in your age group since most of the wannabe's (as evidenced by this board) tend to be in their teens and early 20's!. Many of them give it a go for maybe up to 5 years, if that, and then decide they don't really like the starving artist lifestyle and aren't getting any work and decide to go get a "real" job!.

So, your question is interesting becuase you don't ask about what do you as a beginng actor, just if its "too late"!. Are you just looking for validation!? BEcause that's not enough!. Get into some classes asap and start auditioning for community theatre!. Get a comp card done so you can shop it around to local agencies for commercial modelling!. You may be able to start this right awayk, but depending on where you live, those same agencies may not sign you as an actor if you don't have any experience!. So, go get some!.

There are many books on the business side of pursuing acting as a career!. You have to be your own publicist and business advisor until you reach a certain level, so read as much as you can!.

Good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

With all due respect, and no offense meant to others, you should realize the majority who come here, often asking the same general question, are in a median range of 14 years old, so who might be your best guide!? You perhaps!?

The rationale, I suspect, for those who are young, to rush urgently into a career in the crafts, is peer influences, and ages and media attention of those very young on the Silver Screen!.

By the way, Thank you for your service, "Hoo Yah", and you already have life experience that can be most beneficial!.

Many community colleges offer valid theater programs with hands on experiences and situations!. Studying not only the craft but it's technical aspects, is a way to begin!. I want to say "Talent helps" and certainly it can, but if you've ever seen a movie, you might notice not everyone in it is of "Star" quality!.

Volunteering with local small venues is another way to begin, using life skills to be involved!.

Without knowing what life skills you have, and seeing the added MODELING, certainly you can do head and Body shots, with a professional!.

Initially I'd avoid getting an AGENT, and my reasons are personal opinions!. Getting involved in the Crafts community, even to network, might be as valuable!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Go for it! Men have a longer acting shelf life generally!. And I would think that directors would appreciate the discipline and respect that your military training have instilled in you!. The nice body will get you further than a pasty couch potato figure too, I am sure!.

For acting, it might be good to do some community theatre to gain experience in front of an audience!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
