Question: Would a black and white headshot be acceptable!?
I'm submitting for a movie and a TV show, and I have a black and white headshot I really want to submit because I think it looks amazing!. I'm just not sure if black & white is acceptable to casting directors!. So, should I go with the black & white one or a color one!?

Please help me!.
Thank you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I cannot believe some of the advice I see here!.

Actors' headshots are in COLOR these days!! They have been since the "digital revolution" a few years back!. Black and white is out!. If someone tells you differently, there is no way they are active in the industry in 2008!. You absolutely must go color or your headshot is going to look dated, even if it was shot yesterday! This is also important for all the web submissions done there days since a color shot stands out much better on-line!.

Wether or not your picture look "amazing" is beside the point, a headshot should merely look exactly like you will look on the day of your audition!. It mustn't look like a glamor shot!. You can look energetic and personable, but not dolled-up!.

Best of luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Merrr!.!.!.!. I get a little irritated with people who give advice grudgingly!. This is a hard career to get into and often harder to understand!. I offer my advice because I appriciate those in my past who have been kind enough to offer me theirs!.

It is in your best interest to keep both on you at all times at all auditions!. And have several of them in case there are multiple directors!. When asked for my headshot I always ask them if they would prefer B&W or Color!. I let them make the final decision!.

Most importantly, it MUST look like you!. All the color or lack there of won't help you if they are expecting you to look different!. Save the airbrushed photos for your yearbook!. I'm not trying to be mean, but it's true!. Sometimes people are cast because their tired-eyes give them a uniqueness!.

Just make sure it looks like you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I see so many HEAD SHOT questions here, and you may be advised that COLOR is preferable!? To anyone who knows Photography at any depth, they know that B&W is a standard that will NEVER die, even ANSEL ADAMS knew that!.

Standard is B&W, no matter the genre, 8 x 10 PROFESSIONALLY SHOT, full to 3/4 face, so similar to a "Glamour Shot"!. So often a decent Photog!. would advise, even have a "slip over" for a head shot!.

The issue is not at all what YOU THINK, no matter how gorgeous or handsome you might be!. The headshot is part of a very tedious selection process, and obviously also relates to a VALID resume!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

yes thats fine unless its specified its ok
start with classes at school then do plays at shcool build up your resume get experience! then get an agent and if you want to be succesful it will take years of hard work slowly climbing the ladder of success but if you get a chance to do somethign big go for it!
for agents and all the info you need go to actinginfo!.blogspot!.com and talentagents!.blogspot!.com for the agent one click table of contents then click city nearest you!. read everything on the site
answers wont pop up infront of you so look around and click on the words in blue but not the ones that are double underlined!Www@QuestionHome@Com

i want to photo shop a bullet wound on my forehead and send it to comedy clubs, when they ask whats this I'll say that's my head, shot!. Anyway, black and white is the more commonly used type!. I don't know why!. I guess its classy!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

most headshots are actually in black and white! itll be fine! but take along one in color too just to be prepared! it never hurts to have an extra! break a leg!Www@QuestionHome@Com

*Edit: Go for the black and white one,it's not required to have a color head shot so go for it!Good luck!=)Www@QuestionHome@Com
