Two years ago I was watching this play on PBS!. I cant remember the name of it or who wrote/composed it!.
The play is an oprea where this ugly girl love this guy who is an officer in some war(had to be world war one)!. The officer does not love her back because she is ugly and there is another woman he loves who writes to him often!. Well the officer starts to love the ugly girl and even gets into a duel with her bother!. He loses the duel and is killed!. And the ugly girl gets depressed and I thinks she dies!.
