How long do you have to memorize your lines for a play!.!.!.!.
I dont quite under stand the question but will answer as best i can!.
I you mean: How long does it take you to learn your lines for a play, as in me personally!. I use as much time as i have!. Make the most of the time!. If you have 4 weeks to learn them, then take the first 3 to memorize them, and perfect it on ur fourth week!.
If you only have a matter of days!. Do whatever you can to remember them!. I find it best to type each sentance/line in a different colour and repeat it over and over!.

If you mean, how long are you given to learn your lines for a play then that totally depends on the date of the production!. and when you are given the scripts, there is not set time!.

hope this helps!.!.

I have worked on plays were the director preferred the actors to have learned their lines before starting, so I presume that those actors have the scripts a few weeks before the start of rehearsals!. On new plays especially, the actors might have a script before hand, but sometimes only get them on the first day of rehearsals and know that as it is work in progress, there may be cuts and changes all the way through the rehearsal period which makes it difficult to learn the lines!. The average rehearsal period is about 4 weeks and the director will usually let the actors know when he or she expects the scripts to be put down!. I have worked with some actors who need to know the blocking before learning the lines so that they can match the lines and moves together, and others who learn the lines fast and then add the blocking!. No two actors are the same!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
