Question: Dramatic and comedic monologue Question!?
okay so i am 13 years-old male & i got called for tryouts (auditions for acting) -my first time i'm going to audition-
& i just read all the requirements & i can act & i don't got stage fright but one thing that i don't get is dramatic and comedic monologue it saids "Prepare a dramatic and comedic monologue no more than two minutes in length" so i'm confused of what i'm suppose to do all i know is that its like scripts i guess but does anyone know any good ones

They are giving you two minutes to do one comedic monologue and one dramatic one!. Sometimes they actually mean that you have two minutes for each of them!. If there's a contact number, just ask for clarification!. The reason for this is so they can get an idea of your range and versatility!. The best thing to do if you haven't done that many is to pick two pieces that you really like!. Don't worry too much about other criteria!. If you are enjoying yourself and are comfortable with your pieces, the auditioneers will enjoy it too!. It's always going to be a question of if you are 'right' for a role or not!. Sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don't!. Just do your best, and be well prepared!. The only real way you learn to audition is to keep doing it over and over again!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
a monologue is when your talking mostly to the audience!. telling a story!. or revealing inner thoughts!. or letting out frustration!. when you go to an audition they are looking to see if you're versatile!. you might be good at comedy, but they'd also like to see if you can do drama!. a good actor has a strength in one area!. but if they have to can act out everything!.
when you pick a dramatic monologue, pick one that you can connect with!. you'll be able to put more emotion into it that way!. cus you've gone through it yourself!.
and for comedy!. go all out!. don't be afraid to take a risk!. i did an audition where i was a crazy homeless lady, dealing with terets!. and waiting for the aliens to come!. they love it if you're comfortable to go way outside the box!.

You know what a monologue is right!? Well if not it's a one person conversation!. As if your talking to yourself or you are talking to someone but they are completly silent!. Comedy well!.!.!.!. its supposed to be funny!.
There was a play i saw (cant remember the name, sorry) but it had a seen about a guy who was talking to his friend john and playing golf and he was talking about how his wife ate carrots and turned orange!. try finding that one!. its a monologue its easy and it damn funny!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
they want two long speeches by one character that would be right for you to play: one from a serious play, one from a comedy!. There are monologue web sites!. Just search for such things as Monologues for Teens, etc!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
