Question: Bear Skin Rug!?
I'm stage managing a production of "And Then There Were None" and the director wants a bear skin rug to use on the set!.
Any ideas of where to get one (preferably not too expensive) !?
Thanks!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Try ebay!.!.!.!. they have only 2-3 (and some are bear cub and not real bear) but from the stage you shouldn't see it!.

What's your budget!? They are all cheaper than $30 right now (although I doubt that's worth it for a prop that doesn't even play a major role, but your call) :

No offense but that job should be delegated to props people!. Certainly as the SM, part of your authority dictates that you know every prop, and its placement, as well as its staging, worked by those who are the Props crew!.

Beyond that, I think I'd go faux fur, and consider that to some, an actual Bear hide might be offensive!. Certainly for a real Bear of any significance, Cost would be a factor!. Have you checked major companies!? Major supply houses!? Costuming rental venues!?

Just my 2 "scents"

Kudos for "stepping up" I wonder, especially if it's a school production, or small community theater, if you've considered a "call list", soliciting the donation/loan of props from parents, other patrons, local businesses!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

just buy a faux fur rug from walmart and cut it into the shape of a bear!.!.!. that's my suggestion lol not like the audience will see it that wellWww@QuestionHome@Com

In my (limited) experience, craigslist!.org is a good place to get random stuff like that for shows!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
