Question: Messy back stage drama!?
I'm 15 in a adult/community theater company!. I'm continually having problems with people being in my dressing room and messing around!. These people are not cast members or crew!. I know who they are and I have to work with them for another show next month!. So don't wanna say anything bad or make them mad at me!. But when people come into my dressing room and call me names for no reason when I there to do my job!.!.!. it makes me feel like I should say something!.
I want to fix th problem without having an issue!.
Any ideas!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

my guess is that this is a dressing room for all (your gender) members of the cast!. So if they're not parts of the cast or crew, they're probably friends or family members!. If they're just being rude, try to ignore them, but if they're getting in the way or making it difficult to get ready or make costume changes, this might be effecting your performance!. In this case, it's a good idea to inform your director of what's going on!. Directors usually have tactful ways of getting problems solved!. I know from experience that teenagers are not generally respected by adults in adult theater, so trying to confront people will probably just get you a bad reputation!. Be diplomatic, and hopefully the director will be able to solve this problem for you!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If these people have no connection to your show, tell the director to do something to keep them out!. YOu have two choices, go on being called names and being bothered or do something to stop it!. You already have the issue!. They are causing it so do something!. You want to be bullied all your life!? Why would you want to be in a show with people who call you names!. Better take Karate and let 'em have it!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Is this during production!?

NO-ONE not connected with the show should be allowed in a dressing room during the Show!.

The Green Room is for hanging out, not the dressing room!. Kick them the ---- out!. You have work to do!.

Bruised feelings can wait until after the show!.

If your SM is in the booth calling the show, talk to your ASM/Deck Manager!. Keep these distractions out of your private area!.

What in Blue Blazes are these non-Show-related people doing there in the first place!?!? Put your foot down!. Do not worry about being a "Diva"!. These people do not belong there!. Point an Imperious Finger and shout "OUT!"Www@QuestionHome@Com

I've never heard of someone having an individual dressing room in community theatre!. While others should respect your property and belongings, it's almost impossible to restrict other cast and crew members from a particular area (outside of boy/girl dressing room divisions!.) It is up to a stage manager/ house manager to keep visitors from going backstage!. Don't take anything valuable, label your makeup kit and water!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
