Question: My future is in my hands!?!?!?
I have a huge problem! I'm 14 years old and I love acting!.My mum took to me to acting classes!.I attented for a year! but soon left because of an incident but anyway that was a year ago and I am finding it hard to tell my mum that I want to attend the classes again (even though I stutter)
Everyone thought I was a great actress!! !.My mum wants me to focus on my studies and become a doctor! But I know I won't be happy with that job!!! WHAT DO I DO!!!!

Once you have your studies taken care of, and mum is off your back!.!.!. you can do what you want!. But, this will also mean you are somewhat more up in age and living on your own!.!.!. I stll advocate though, you continue your studies and nurish your love for acting at the same time!.!.!.!. You have a "Mum" for a reason, and parents didn't get to be old and wise by luck!.!.!. They've been down a few dusty, bumppy roads in their time!.!.!.!.!. Out of love, your mother is trying to protect you!.!.!.!.
Unfortunately, acting and actors still has a negative image in the minds of our more paracticle parents!. Just try to understand, with parents, it's a generational thing; go to school, get a job, work hard, have a family, retire and die!!! People of your generation are not held back by such "Industrial Age" thinking!.!.!.!. Once you understand this, you will come to appreciate your mum's position (Note, I didn't say you would come to agree with it)!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
Once you leave home, you have an array of jobs waiting for you!. First, you'll need to get speech therapy for that stutter, because it is hard to act with a stutter!. Then, get a Drama Degree at University and (if you're really devoted), when finished, you may want to move to a place where Acting is most associated with, here are some examples:

Move to: Nashville, Tennesee, USA
Reason: Nashville's nicknamed Music City

Want to be: Famous Actor
Move to: West Hollywood (Burbank or Beverly Hills may suit), California, USA
Reason: Adjacent places to Central Hollywood, C!. Hollywood is dangerous to live in, and Hollywood is where feature-films go

I understand that people do not stutter if they have the material memorized!. Incident,eh!? If it was not your doing, then forgetaboutit!. How did it effect mum!? What classes were they!? If mum won't help, all you can do it to take the future in your hands, enroll for all the drama classes, be in all the school plays and go to univeristy to study acting!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
