drinking water only makes you have to pee on stage, avoid that!! onions will make your eyes tear, but yes this is damage!. common trick used by even broadway stars is when someone else has a line that is long and detailed and leads up to your tears, put your hands to your mouth, looking like your holding back emotion (yes i know this is gross but!.!.) spit on a couple of your fingers (be subtle!) and go to wipe your eyes, this looks like your whiping tears away and then you leave streaks on your face as well!. sometimes the saliva in your eyes can make you tear!. if you wanna try a thought and go all natural, think of a person you care most about in your whole life!. now think you just got a phone call!. they died, their last words were to tell YOU that they loved you, the death was slow and painful and the killer got away!. you'll never see this person again!.

sad thoughts, or broadway tips!! i hope one of these can help you! if you need anymore help, ask away! good luck!Www@QuestionHome@Com

It depends on what actually makes you cry in real life!. If simple emotions don't do it, try pinching yourself!. If worst comes to worst and you actually HAVE to squeeze out the tears, try a professional tear stick!. I personally don't know much about them, but I've seen them used before!.

When I have to cry on stage, I try to relate to the character's predicament!. I was recently in a musical production of the Diary of Anne Frank, and crying was easy for me because all I had to think of when I was doing the scenes was having to face my own mortality day after day!. It made the whole thing a very emotional process!. The important thing to remember is that you should never go too far in faking tears!. If they don't come, just try to make the moment seem natural!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

They actually make a menthol cream that makes you cry!.!. but you have to be very careful not to get too much or you'll be crying the whole time you're on stage lol!.
Other than that!.!. I don't know!. I tear up when I pluck my eyebrows but I don't know how that's help you on stage lol!.
If you're unable to feel the part maybe you should find ways of exposing yourself to things that might make you cry and using those mental images when you're up on stage!.
I know how you feel!. I had a hard time crying (I was actually raised NEVER to cry)!.!.!.
I finally found my tears (whether I wanted them or not)!.!.!. and it was thrust upon me through pregnancy!.!. although not a feasible option lol!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you can do it discreetly, pluck a nose hair!. That makes me tear up every time!.

I'm currently in a show where I have to burst into tears!. Due to the fact that my contacts dry my eyes out something awful, I'm not able to produce real tears!. I can make my voice sound like I'm crying, and I contort my face as well!. It helps that I have had a cold recently and so I can make real sniffling sounds!. But no tears! And it's probably a good thing!. My make-up would be everywhere and I don't make it back to the dressing room for at least 10 to 15 minutes afterward!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

I think of WarWorldTwo (Strange I know) but I think about babys getting gased,Or the titanic love scene where shes shouting 'jack'!.

When I act and cry, I bow my head and let it slip down dramatically and then look up at the audience, but lower my gaze then slowely highering it,looking the audience straight in the eye!

Forget all these phoney and harmful things!. IF you are a talented actor and if you know how to act, when the character is supposed to cry you will cry because you will be reacting fully and honestly without any barriers to the situation the character is in!. It is that simple!. Read How to Stop Acting by Harold Guskin or contact me for more info!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
