Question: Audition Songs for Annie and Footlose!?
I'm 12, but have a much more mature vocal range then you would think!. I am a mezzo-soprano belt- 1st soprano, but can belt Defying Gravity if I tried!. I just really want to be Annie, and to get a role in footlose!Www@QuestionHome@Com

despite what the user before me wrote, you should never, unless told to, audition for a show with a song from it!. A far better choice would be a song by the same composer, lyricist, or similar key!. something that can also show off the type of character you are looking for!. A footloose audition choice should be something within the same time period!. Footloose was created from Top songs of the 80s, so definitely look for something in that area!. a good website to look at is http://www!.bradboard!.com/top1984!.html Look into a song by Pat Benatar, who's vocal range matches the one you describe!.

Your Annie audition should be one that shows off not only your range, but also your child-like side!. look into Charles Strouse musicals!. Such as Bye Bye Birdie!.

Hope everything works out! "Break-a-leg" at your audition!Www@QuestionHome@Com

Tomorrow from Annie would be a good song to showcase in an audition!. However it isn't all about belting out a song you need to be able to act the song and let the audience feel your emotionsWww@QuestionHome@Com
