The title comes from a line in the play!. And the title is a symbol of the fact that everyone's life in the story is driven by their desires, that they are riding on a Streecar Named Desire!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Anyone who has ever been to New Orleans and has rode one of those beautiful street cars down there can understand the Irony of this title!. Tennessee Williams is known for his famous plays about the south what with "Cat on a hot tin roof" and The Glass menagerie!. The story is about a woman who loses everything because of an affair with a 17 year old boy!. As a result the plantation is lost!. The brother in law demands an explanation and is obstinate as heck about it!. Along comes a man who is destined to help the poor woman from her predicament or will he!?Www@QuestionHome@Com
