Question: Organizing Costume Room!?!?!?
I am currently organizing a large costume room in a nearby theatre company!. One wall has shelves of fabrics sorted by color and the other wall has shelves of costumes sorted by time period/mens and womans!. In the middle is a large work counter with sewing machines/grid patterns/measuring tools/etc!. Underneath this counter are bins full of odds and ends!. How should I organize these!?!? Makeup/wigs/head bands/!?!?!? Any tips or suggestions would be helpful!. Anything I need to change to the already organized shelves!?!?!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Are you the one who will be working in it!? If so, organize it however you want!. If not, consult with the person who will be using it!. Plastic drawer storage bins from Target and a label maker are good!.

If the shelves are organized, don't make more work for yourself, just label everything and make sure it has easy access!.

I'm guessing you already have a flair for organizing things or you wouldn't have been chosen or volunteered for this job!.

Trust your own instincts!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

If you are just taking over, I would caution you to avoid change for change sake! It may make you look busy and hard at work i!.e!. contributing, taking a hands approach, being proactive, etc!. But not all change is good!.

Although things may appear to be out of sort, they have probably gotten the into the places they are over time due to functional considerations!.!.!. just look at a vulture!.!.!.!.not pretty but it's works! Step back and watch how the items in the room are used during productions!. This will give you a better idea of what to change or not to fool with! Work smart and not hard!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
