Not at all! Usually acting helps people stop being shy and surrounds themself with people who can encourage that!. In fact many parents get their kids into theatre to help them overcome thier shyness and believe me it works! So many people I know in my theatre company (including me!) used to be shy!. It may be a little awkward at first, but the more you do it,the shyness decreaces!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

im a really shy person, but once im on stage im a totally different person, i can do whatever i want, because thats what i love, and i give it my everything, but you have to try it, im shy, but as i said, when i act, i put myself in the character's position, im not the shy me anymore!. so you have to try it, if u being shy is stopping you from giving everything on stage, then of course it affects your acting career!. but being shy in your life doesn't necessarily means you'll be shy on stage!.
