Best Answer - Chosen by Asker:
To join SAG, a performer must pay an initiation fee of $2,277, plus the first semi-annual basic dues payment of $58!. Thus, the total fee to join is $2,335!.
Fees may be lower if you join or work in a branch area other than Hollywood!. However, if you subsequently work in an area whose governing branch charged a higher initiation fee the year that you joined than you initially paid, you must pay the difference to the new branch!.
All joining fees are payable in full, in cashier's check, money order, Visa or MasterCard at the time of application!. NO PERSONAL CHECKS are accepted for joining fees!.
SAG work are the professional work!. The movies that are in the theater!. Some are big-budget movies!.

ATA/NATR Would be best before joining SAG!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

NATR - National Association of Talent Representatives

There is no "better", either is fine!.

From Backstage: When scouting for reps in the entertainment career field, keep your guard up!. Research prospective reps and the local laws governing them; many cities and/or states require talent agents to be licensed, for instance!. also, check if an agent is either franchised by the Screen Actors Guild or a member of the Association of Talent Agents or the National Association of Talent Representatives!. Currently, most ATA and NATR members are not franchised by SAG, but may still represent you for union work!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

Agents find you, when you perform, drop them a card, telling them about the play you're in, and you would appreciate them attending the performance!.
Be sure to state , there will be two comps for them, follow-up to make sure the comps will be at the box office!.Www@QuestionHome@Com
