Question: Has anybody seen the musical Xanadu!?

Has anyone seen the Broadway musical Xanadu!? I've heard that it's hilarious and very highly rated - but I haven't seen the 80's movie that it's based on!.
Will I miss out on the jokes/story of the musical if I haven't seen the movie!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

I saw Xanadu during the strike, and lets just say it's good for what it is!. The singing is amazing both Kerry and Cheyenne carry the vocals very well, the music is campy, the staging is over the top, and they occasionally reference plot holes from the movie (such as why a Greek muse would have an Australian accent) but all and all it's not bad!. I wouldn't suggest watching the movie, unless you enjoy train wrecks that last for two hours!. But if you want a nice, bright, roller skating musical that lasts 90 minutes, then go for it, or catch one of the staples like Phantom or A Chorus Line!.Www@QuestionHome@Com

i live in australia so i haven't seen the broadway musical!.!.!. but have seen the movie and its great!.

But you don't have to have seen the movie to understand the musical, as basically it is just a live version of the movie!.

Go and enjoy it !.!.!. musicals are always better than the movie, as the atmosphere is great!Www@QuestionHome@Com
