Question: Antigone Inpirations!?
I am Haemon in the upcoming play Antigone and I must write about 5 things that reminded me or inspired me about the play or my character!. Any suggestions!?Www@QuestionHome@Com

Devotion = Haemon had family obligations to protect such as respecting his father's power!. However, his other family (his bride to be Antigone) also plays great importance to him!. Thats why first he comes forth as respectful of Creon's decree, but then tries to reason him out of punshing her!.

Love & Self Sacrifice = Committing suicide as a result of Antigone's own death!.

Standing up for whats right instead of stereotypes = Haemon believed in Antingone and did not think that men (eg Creon) were superior to women!. This was common belief in greek community at the time!. This also ties in with faith to the laws of the gods instead of men(creon again), whereby Antigone dying for her rightful belief to rules made by the divine is supported by Haemon!.

Lesson in taking good advice = Creon looses his son, and his wife despite the good advice they gave to him!. (no to mention the chorus and the prophet) Perhaps you could write this as Haemon giving good respect and support despite sharing unequal views with his father

i dunno!. hope that helped!
